Blacksburg, VA: The Coordinator to Support Virginia’s Large Animal Veterinary Workforce, a Virginia Cooperative Extension Position, will strategically support developing, existing and career-entering large animal veterinarians in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The position will be an Administrative/Professional (AP) in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences of Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech.
In this extension/service role, the Coordinator to Support Virginia’s Large Animal Veterinary Workforce (CSVLAVW) will help fulfill Virginia Tech’s land-grant mission through serving large animal producers and veterinarians. In their teaching and continuing education role, the CSVLAVW will bring a holistic private practice perspective to students and producers. In their scholarship role, the CSVLAVW will be expected to be a successful contributor to knowledge discovery efforts by collaborating with colleagues in applied veterinary medicine, business, and community building.

A-State’s
 DVM program is designed as a three-year pre-clinical curriculum and 
one-year clinical curriculum. The twelve-month clinical year is 
distributed across practices in Arkansas, the region, and the nation. 
The College of Veterinary Medicine is one of twelve colleges at Arkansas
