Richmond, VA: Wellesley Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our hospital team. Our LVTs play a key role in providing top-notch care to our clients and our patients, both for routine medical visits as well as for surgical procedures. As one of the top veterinary practices in the Richmond area, we treat a wide variety of animals - the feathered, the furry and the scaled, so prior experience dealing with exotic animals is a plus.
Educational requirements: Minimum of AAS in Veterinary Technology; BA or BS preferred. Work Experience: Prefer two (2) years experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. The most successful candidates will possess a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of the accurate drug and fluid doses. Must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests (urinalysis, venipuncture, dental prophylaxis), use multiple radiology techniques, administer anesthesia and monitor animals while under anesthesia, assist in surgery and perform dental cleanings.
