What is the P10 program?

-A collaborative initiative to cultivate leadership capacity in recent graduates

-A learning experience that will benefit the individual both professionally and personally

-A network of peers with similar challenges and colleagues that want to help P10 participants succeed
-An opportunity to enhance interpersonal, financial & leadership skills that are imperative to a successful veterinary medicine career

Please contact Talya George at 804-346-2611 or email talya@vvma.org.

The first meeting will be February 17 or 18, 2023, in conjunction with the Virginia Veterinary Conference in Roanoke, VA. The program will conclude in February 2024. The group will meet every 2-3 months with a combination of in-person and virtual meetings throughout the program year.

The Power of 10 Leadership program is designed to be completely customized based upon the participants' preferences.

Examples of program curriculum may include:

  • Financial Management
  • Leadership Skill Development (personally & professionally)
  • Client & Co-worker Communication
  • Practice Ownership
  • Managing Compassion Fatigue

In addition, each participant will be invited to participate in VVMA continuing education and legislative events and will "graduate" the program with a better understanding of what the VVMA does to protect the interests of veterinarians, as well as the patients and clients they serve.

Thank you to all who have applied for the 2023 P10 program. The application process for the 2023 program has closed. Please email Talya@vvma.org if you would like to be placed on the waiting list. Thank you!
